Canadian Canoe MuseumThe Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario has just announced that John Summers will be sitting in the stern, steering the canoe.

John Summers, most recently the chief curator of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, New York, is a veteran museum professional who began his career at Toronto's historic Fort York after receiving his Master of Museum Studies degree from the University of Toronto.

He subsequently worked at Toronto's Marine Museum of Upper Canada and the International Yacht Restoration School in Newport, Maine.

"This job is a rare opportunity to become involved with an institution that has accomplished so much in little more than a decade since its founding," says Mr. Summers.

If you haven't been to the Canadian Canoe Museum before, it is well worth the trip. It's only 2 hours outside of Toronto, and with over 600 canoes and kayaks, it is world class.
