Here is Nick Castro from playing in a tide race at Baynes Channel inVictoria BC a couple of days ago. I wrote him for more information about the photo and here is what he said: This was 2 days ago at Baynes Channel, Victoria BC, our local Tide race. It was a great day with mid size to big, good small swell coming after 36hrs of SE and about 4 kn of Ebb, That is Ben Garrett dropping in behind. We surfed until dark and it was getting better and better but too messy for night surfing. Photo credit: Nick Castro. Used with permission.
This is Dave Wells from Naturally Superior Adventures and Scott Ewart from 1000 Islands Kayak are getting a serious arm workout. Virginia Marshall from Adventure Kayak magazine took this awesome photo at the 2011 Georgian Bay Storm Gathering last month. That’s 35 knot (70 km/h) winds and yes, the rain is coming in sideways.

Awesome Sea Kayak Photos of the Moment
Thursday, 03 November 2011

Keirron Tastagh from Adventurous Experiences out of the UK posted yesterday a series of fantastic photos of sea kayakers playing around in the surf. Maybe it’s the angle that the photo was taken but to me it seems like only about one foot of the boat is actually touching the water. Looks like one awesome day on the water. Check out the full gallery here. Photos posted with permission from Keirron Tastagh.
Local paddling school and friends of the site, just posted the short list for their second annual sticker/photo contest and they are looking for your help in picking the winner. It’s easy to pass your judgement. Just go to the photo contest on Facebook and click like for the photos you think are the best and the one with the most votes gets brand new Werner Paddle. You had better hurray as the winner gets announced Friday, September 30. Image Credits: 2011 Photo Contest
I’m not exactly sure where this was taken but looking at some other photos in the Flickr photostream it was taken in the Bohuslän archipelago in Sweden. And here is a very unrelated bonus photo for you. Darth Vader busking in Victoria, BC.
