Devil's Lake State Park: A little more balance is opening up a whole new world of independence for people with disabilities.
"It's fun. It's a beautiful day. It's fun to be gliding across the water. It's just gorgeous." Jane Schmeiding looks like any other kayaker out on the water.
Only two small outriggers give away that her kayak is any different. "It's just so normal," says Jane. "It's just feeling like I'm just another boater and can go where I want to go on the lake."

DARTMOUTH, N.S. - The federal and Nova Scotia governments have announced funding for an international canoe competition that's expected to draw competitors from more than 90 countries to a Dartmouth lake next year.

For far too long, Americans have been kept in the dark about the steady
stream of untreated sewage that pollutes our rivers and lakes. Today,
thanks to Congressman Tim Bishop (D-NY) and Congressman Frank LoBiondo
(R-NJ), that could change. Lawmakers in the House of Representatives
passed a landmark bill requiring sewage treatment plants to notify
Americans in the event of a sewage spill.
