Things are getting so busy and congested at the La Jolla
Shores, CA lone boat ramp that city officials are considering a lottery system
to help ease the weekend traffic.
A recent workshop was held with officials and the local
commercial kayak operators to try to figure out a solution to the problem that
runs from mid-June through to the beginning of September.
The city is proposing a lottery for designated time slots on
Saturdays and Sundays and restricting the number of kayaks out on the water at
any given time.
Guidelines and information on the lottery will be released
to kayak operators by the end of August or early September.
