Steamboat Springs, Colorado - Capitalizing on more than 14 years of
publishing experience, Recreation Publishing Inc. (RPI) today announced
the launch of Paddling Life, a lush, new, cutting-edge magazine for
kayakers, rafters, and canoeists aimed at growing the paddlesports
market. Published by industry veteran Eugene Buchanan, the title will
headline a suite of new magazines, as well as a dynamic new Web site dedicated to growing the sport and celebrating
the paddling lifestyle.
“I
love this sport and industry too much to sway too far from my passion,”
says Buchanan, a member of New York’s prestigious Explorer’s Club.
“Paddling Life will mirror surf, skate, and snow publications that
brought their sports to the pinnacle of pop-culture awareness, with
flavorful stories and great photography.”
Paddling Life will
be printed five times per year, beginning with a Gear Guide issue and
followed by issues for each season (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter).
The company also plans to unveil a new magazine titled Whitewater Life
twice a year, as well as a trade magazine for the industry that will be
published quarterly. Paddlers and sponsors can also look for an
interactive road tour to be launched spring 2007, as well as a
televised invitational paddling competition to be held in the
magazine’s hometown of Steamboat Springs on the Yampa River in May 2007.
“The
magazine’s mission, and that of Recreation Publishing Inc., is to grow
the paddlesports community and industry, sell the stoke that got us all
hooked on paddling, and expose as many people as possible to our
vibrant paddling lifestyle,” says Buchanan, adding that paddlers can
subscribe at www.paddlinglife.net for an introductory price of only 10
bucks. Look for the premier issue of Paddling Life, the Ultimate
Paddlesports Gear Guide, to be released in February 2007.
